The trendy nightspot Chino Latino has agreed to pay $325,000 to settle a discrimination lawsuit filed by the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission that alleged it mistreated its Hispanic employees. The restaurant, one of the stars of the Parasole Holdings chain that includes the Good Earth, Muffuletta, Figlio, Salut Bar Americain and Manny's Steakhouse, also must hire a Spanish-speaking ombudsman to hear any future concerns, set up a hot line for complaints and train managers on discrimination laws, according to a court filing.
