Retail workers in Australia may have their take-home pay cut by up to $100 a week under the Federal Government's proposed workplace changes
Making the claim, Michael Donovan, secretary of the Shop, Distributive and Allied Employees Association. The union, Victoria's biggest and generally regarded as conservative, said up to 200,000 retail workers could be affected. Mr Donovan said the changes would give employers the power to remove holiday loadings, overtime rates, meal breaks, tea breaks and the five-day working week from agreements with staff.
