School districts want teacher concessions on health care benefits
School districts across the state want teachers to pay for a greater share of their health care benefits, even as dozens of school districts have reached impasses in new contract negotiations with their teachers, according to a survey released Thursday. The survey by the New York State School Boards Association also found that a typical teacher with a master's degree and 10 years experience is paid about $53,000 a year.
