New storm for United?United Airlines' meteorologists have asked a federal judge to prevent the carrier from hiring replacement workers. The Transport Workers Union sued the Elk Grove Township-based airline in federal court in Chicago this week, seeking an injunction preventing the airline from laying off all of its 19 forecasters and outsourcing their work. The airline shouldn't be allowed to make such a move until the union's grievances against the airline are ruled upon, the lawsuit claims. A United spokeswoman said the airline will ask that the motion be moved to bankruptcy court, where United is attempting to reorganize.
